Last Updated: October 7, 2021

IPv6 or Internet Protocol Version 6 was designed to take the place of IPv4. However, it comes with existing IP options for customizing your VPN. Therefore, disabling IPv6 might be a good first step toward a solid setup with better speed. To effectively disable IPv6 on Android, follow the instructions below.

  1. Open the Settings app on your Android device.
  2. Select the Network and Internet option, then go to Mobile Network.
  3. Tap on Advanced from the drop-down menu.
  4. Now select Access point names, then tap on your current Internet Network.
  5. Then select the IPv4 option in both APN protocol and APN roaming protocol.
  6. Select APN protocol and disable IPv4.
  7. Go back and choose the APN roaming protocol to disable IPv4.
  8. Once you are done with the steps, you’ve successfully disabled IPv6 on your Windows computer.
