Set up OysterVPN on LibreELEC with Kodi add-on

When Kodi is set up with OysterVPN, it takes it to a whole new level, allowing users to access a variety of add-ons, channels, and shows. This tutorial will show you how to set up OysterVPN on LibreELEC with a Kodi add-on?

Because of its non-Kodi GUI, LibreELEC, the Just Enough OS for Kodi, is a more sophisticated platform compared to other Kodi platforms. However, after you’ve mastered a few basic Linux commands, you should have no trouble installing software such as VPNs or repositories. Kodi can be used on nearly any device, and it does so with very low system resources.

You’ll need a,

  • LibreELEC device,
  • OysterVPN application, and an
  • active OysterVPN subscription to begin the setup process.

  1. To begin, you must first download the Zomboided repository. Click here to download.
  2. Connect the USB flash drive to your computer and go to the Zomboided repository file ( So, you don’t have to do it again later; click here to upload the configuration file.
  3. Switch to your LibreELEC device now that you’ve uploaded all of your files to your USB memory stick.
  4. Then connect the USB disc to your device and launch the Kodi interface.
  5. Select Add Source from the File Manager by clicking the settings icon. There should be a USB drive option that may occur asking for the repository’s name, and you can name it whatever you like.
  6. On Kodi’s home page’s left pane, click Add-ons.
  7. Then select the Add-on browser icon.
  8. You can also install the Add-on from the zip file.
  9. Navigate to the Zomboided repository file on your USB device, open it.
  10. Now return to the previous menu and choose Install from the repository from the drop-down menu. Please pick Zomboided from the Zomboided add-on repository.
  11. Then select VPN Manager for OpenVPN from the Services menu.
  12. Select Add-on Settings from the first menu of the new VPN add-on.
  13. Make sure you’re on the VPN Configuration tab in the left pane, the first tab.
  14. Then navigate to the User Defined option under VPN Provider.
  15. Now enter your OysterVPN service credentials.
  16. Scroll down to the User Defined Import Wizard line on the menu press the button.
  17. To erase existing settings, select Yes.
  18. Now go on uploading the configuration files from your USB drive.
  19. Select Directory from the drop-down menu.
  20. Select the configuration file(s) you want to upload from your USB drive and click OK.
  21. When the importation is finished, you will receive a notification.
  22. Return to the settings page and select VPN Connection from the left pane’s second tab.
  23. Choose the first option, that is the first VPN connection.
  24. Go to your configuration file and double-click it. Please wait as it establishes a connection with the server.
  25. A new window would appear stating that you have successfully connected to our server if you did everything correctly. Your new IP address will be displayed there.
  26. At the bottom of the following page, click Install.
  27. A notice will appear in the top-right corner stating that a new add-on has been successfully installed.
  28. After the installation, go to Add-ons and look for the VPN Manager for the OpenVPN icon in the Program add-ons section.
  29. The VPN manager is now installed on your device, and now it’s just a matter of configuring it now.
  30. That’s it! You have successfully set up OysterVPN on LibreELEC with the Kodi add-on.
