IPv6 or Internet Protocol Version 6 was designed to take the place of IPv4. However, it comes with existing IP options for customizing your VPN. Therefore, disabling IPv6 might be a good first step toward a solid setup with better speed. To effectively disable IPv6 on macOS, follow the instructions below.
- Start by clicking on Apple Logo.
- Now click on System Preferences, then go to Network.
- Select the first Network listed on the left-hand side (usually Ethernet or Wi-Fi).
- Then click the Advanced.
- Go to the TCP/IP tab at the top of the screen.
- Besides, Set IPv6 to Off in the configuration.
- Select Link-local Only if you don’t have this option.
- To save your changes, click OK. If you connect to a different network type (Wi-Fi, for example), repeat the same steps.
- Once you are done with the steps, you’ve successfully disabled IPv6 on your Windows computer.
