IPv6 or Internet Protocol Version 6 was designed to take the place of IPv4. However, it comes with existing IP options for customizing your VPN. Therefore, disabling IPv6 might be a good first step toward a solid setup with better speed. To effectively disable IPv6 on macOS, follow the instructions below.
- In the bottom-right corner of your screen, click Windows.
- In the pop-up start bar menu, click the Settings cogwheel.
- Click Network & Internet in the Windows Settings pane.
- Choose Wi-Fi if you’re using wireless internet or Ethernet if you’re using a wired internet connection on the left side.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and select the Change adapter.
- Now you can see all of your PC’s TAP adapters.
- Click Properties after right-clicking on the active TAP adapter.
- Press OK after unticking the Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) box.
- Restart your computer when you’ve finished with the other TAP adapters.
- Once you are done with the steps, you’ve successfully disabled IPv6 on your Windows computer.
