This tutorial will show you how to use the PPTP Protocol to connect Huawei Router to OysterVPN. You’ll need a Huawei Router and an active OysterVPN subscription to get started with the setup process. If you don’t already have a subscription, click here to subscribe.
- To access your router’s Web Configuration Panel, open a web browser and type 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.8.1 into the address bar. (Unless you’ve modified it previously, this is the default IP address for accessing the router.)
- It will ask you for the Username and Password for your router.
- Log in with that information.
- You can locate the username and password at the bottom of a router.
- After logging into the router successfully, follow these steps to set up OysterVPN using the L2TP protocol.
- LNS Address: Your desired L2TP VPN server address. In this case, enter the Hong Kong server IP address here. Please click here to visit OysterVPN Complete L2TP server list.
- Hostname: OysterVPN (or whatever name you want for your VPN connection).
- Tunnel password: psk123
- Hello Interval (seconds): 60
- PPP Username: Your OysterVPN Username
- PPP Password: Your OysterVPN Password
- Connection Mode: Auto
- Click on “Save” (OR “Apply“)
- That’s it! You’ve completed the installation and configuration of OysterVPN on Huawei Router using PPTP protocol.
