How to Set Up Manual OpenVPN connection using Linux Terminal?

Follow the instructions below to set up OysterVPN manually with OpenVPN using Linux Terminal.

  1. Open the Terminal/Console and run this command Sudo apt-get install network-manager-OpenVPN.
  2. Now press Enter after typing the command.
  3. Enter Y to confirm the installation.
  4. Download the OysterVPN OpenVPN configuration files from here.
  5. Extract the downloaded config files folder from your Downloads folder.
  6. Right-click on your Network Connection icon and select “Configure Network Connections” from the drop-down menu.
  7. Click on the sign.
  8. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Create” after selecting Import VPN Connection.
  9. Go to your Downloads folder, where you have extracted the TCP and UDP files.
  10. Open any folders, TCP, or UDP, depending on which OpenVPN protocol you want to use.
  11. Now double-click on the VPN server file you want to use, and select “Yes” in this example.
  12. Type your OysterVPN username and password in the relevant fields. Then click OK.
  13. Click Connect in your Network Connections to connect to the VPN profile you just created.
