The OpenVPN protocol for Android devices is not included in the Android operating system. Here’s how you can set up OpenVPN on Android using OysterVPN:
- From the Google Play Store, download and install the OpenVPN Connect app.
- Download OysterVPN’s OpenVPN TCP and UDP config files from here.
- Select the OysterVPN config files zip folder from your phone’s Downloads. This folder should be unzipped/extracted.
- Open the OpenVPN Connect App you downloaded.
- Now go to the File tab.
- Locate the TCP or UDP files, depending on which protocol you wish to connect.
- Choose your preferred server from the drop-down menu.
- Then click on Import in the top-right corner and take the following steps:- Enter something like “USA-Atlanta-TCP” as a title. Enter your username and password for OysterVPN. If you want the password saved for this specific server, check the box next to Save password.
- At the top-right of the screen, tap “Add.”
- A connection request will appear; hit “OK.”
- Tap on the “Continue” button, and you will be connected in a few moments.
